My first introduction to graphic design was creating brochures and simple web pages for a surf art company I co-owned in 2003. I truly enjoyed creating the promotional materials for our company, but I did not pursue graphic arts any further until 2011. In 2011, after being creatively starved for a few years, I came to a realization that being creative was a large part of who I am as a person. I also needed a outlet for this creativity. My interest in design led me to enroll at the Academy of Art University's Web Design and New Media online program and I have not looked back since. During my four years at the Academy, I dedicated every free moment to my studies. I worked two jobs during this time so working long and late hours to meet a deadline were a normal occurrence. I have sacrificed a lot along the way to get where I am today. This work ethic and dedication displays my passion for design.
I graduated from the Academy of Art University and received my BFA in December, 2015 and I am currently working as a new media intern at the University of Maryland Center of Environmental Science in Annapolis, MD. My focus is now on acquiring a junior designer position and continuing my design journey with like-minded and creative thinkers. My goals are to get better every day, continue to further develop my skill set and provide consistent work at a high level.
Personally, I enjoy the challenges of travel and meeting new people. I take the time to appreciate the outdoors and am an avid snowboarder. I enjoy surfing and the feeling of being one with the ocean. Music is also a passion and I have been a professional DJ for almost a decade.
Thanks for checking me out!
